Seed Pod Close-ups

 
Martha Washington has wonderful carpels that are easy to work with and produce excellent pods and seeds.  There are usually 3 or 4 carpels per flower.  Below are several close-up photos of typical M. Washington seed pods taken in mid-August approximately 2 weeks before seed harvest.
